Flying threw Kindergarten

Boy am I ever proud of our Kinders.
We are starting a Letters and Numbers club. Once children can identify the the letters (upper case and lower case) and their sounds, they get to join the letters club. When students are able to count to 100 - they get to join the numbers club. You can practice both of these things at home by counting with a 100's chart or by making letter flash cards.

With the flash cards you can hold up a letter (not in ABC order) and ask your child to tell you the letter and it's sound.

Identifying numbers is very important too. Something to try at home would be printing the 100's chart and saying random numbers to your child (example "Can you point to 43?") You can use cheerios or other small items to cover which numbers they know.

Here's what's been going on this week:

Liam was making tally marks to count by 5's!

Here is Mylee counting with pom poms.

Avery is counting using stones. He started by putting the numbers in order from 1 to 10.

Jaxon is counting with pom poms too!

Here is Kingston making site words using clothes pins.

Brenden can count to and make 10.
